About the speaker: Jeffrey Zlotnik is a pioneering social activist and the Co-Founder & CEO of the Dharma Bum Temple, a community hub in San Diego that welcomes hundreds of people weekly for free meditation and Buddhist education. After leaving a successful consulting career and living in a Taiwanese monastery, Jeffrey dedicated his life to service. Through his work, he has brought the mental health benefits of mindfulness to over 100,000 people since 2003, establishing free meditation programs in prisons, homeless shelters, schools, and for diverse groups including active military with PTSD, seniors, and victims of domestic violence. As a founder of The Meditation Initiative and the Delta Beta Tau Buddhist Fraternity at SDSU, he is a leading voice in Engaged Buddhism, focusing on how to transform inner practice into compassionate, hands-on action.
