The Arts Workshop: The Beauty of Dunhuang — A Beginner’s Guide to Zen-Inspired Painting
Join the Arts Initiative for The Arts Workshop with Man Qianhe. Painting is a cherished memory for many—a joyful expression of childhood innocence, found in the doodles of our notebooks or the first splash of color on paper. Yet as life grows busier, that simple joy often slips quietly into the past. This Dunhuang-inspired painting workshop invites you to pick up the brush once more and reconnect with the pure delight of creation. Beyond simply recreating the sacred art of Dunhuang, we will enter the meditative rhythm of each stroke, observing the gentle flow of thought and feeling in the present moment. Through the tranquil beauty of Dunhuang’s imagery, we rediscover not only art—but ourselves—one brushstroke at a time.
Man Qianhe is an Associate Professor at the Beijing Institute of Technology. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the Academy of Fine Arts at Tsinghua University.
