Lupita Vives comes to the DRBU master’s program from Cuernavaca, Mexico. A clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst with a private practice as a counselor and psychotherapist, she has extensive experience working in schools, universities, and hospitals. She says, “Every person I have met here, and every interaction I have had has confirmed not only the uniqueness of this education, but also underscored my reason for coming here.” She appreciates the integration of academic and spiritual studies. “Everything you do and learn here is put into practice.”

Tomas Fletcher comes to the DRBU BA program from Canada. He has been a frequent visitor to the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas over the last ten years for short and long term stays. He submitted his application for the BA program as soon as he learned that DRBU was able to admit international students. He has found the DRBU community to be extremely welcoming. “Everyone I’ve met—whether faculty or staff or fellow students—has been supportive and helpful.” He is enjoying the challenge of the academic classes, which push him to deepen his thinking as he interacts with texts and his fellow students.
