SUMMARY:Guan Yin Redwood Retreat: Listening to the Heart
DESCRIPTION:How deeply do we listen—to others\, to ourselves\, and to the living world around us? In an age of constant connection\, many of us still feel unseen\, unheard\, or alone. What would it mean to truly listen again—with our whole being? \nAcross the centuries\, spiritual teachers have pointed to listening as a doorway to awakening. During this weeklong retreat\, we’ll explore four dimensions of deep listening: \n\nSomatic Listening – grounding awareness in the body\nEmpathic Listening – welcoming the full range of our heart’s experience\nPanoramic Listening – attuning to the field that connects us all\nSacred Listening – opening to the transcendent presence that flows through everything\n\nThrough meditation\, mindful silence\, and the recitation of Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s name—“She Who Listens to the Sounds of the World”—we’ll return to the quiet source of awareness that is always available within us. \nGuan Yin embodies Great Compassion\, the gentle strength that meets suffering with understanding and care. As we practice together\, we learn to listen deeply—to ourselves\, to one another\, and to the world—and rediscover the compassion that arises naturally from the stillness of the heart.
